٢And by the night when it is stillest,

Wal laili iza sajaa

٣Thy Lord hath not forsaken thee nor doth He hate thee,

Ma wad da'aka rabbuka wa ma qalaa

٤And verily the latter portion will be better for thee than the former,

Walal-aakhiratu khairul laka minal-oola

٥And verily thy Lord will give unto thee so that thou wilt be content.

Wa la sawfa y'uteeka rabbuka fatarda

٦Did He not find thee an orphan and protect (thee)?

Alam ya jidka yateeman fa aawaa

٧Did He not find thee wandering and direct (thee)?

Wa wa jadaka daal lan fahada

٨Did He not find thee destitute and enrich (thee)?

Wa wa jadaka 'aa-ilan fa aghnaa

٩Therefor the orphan oppress not,

Fa am mal yateema fala taqhar

١٠Therefor the beggar drive not away,

Wa am mas saa-ila fala tanhar

١١Therefor of the bounty of thy Lord be thy discourse.

Wa amma bi ni'mati rabbika fahad dith
