٢- Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is!

Wa maaa adraaka mattaariq

٣- The piercing Star!

Annajmus saaqib

٤No human soul but hath a guardian over it.

In kullu nafsil lammaa 'alaihaa haafiz

٥So let man consider from what he is created.

Fal yanzuril insaanu mimma khuliq

٦He is created from a gushing fluid

Khuliqa mim maaa'in daafiq

٧That issued from between the loins and ribs.

Yakhruju mim bainissulbi wat taraaa'ib

٨Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life)

Innahoo 'alaa raj'ihee laqaadir

٩On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out.

Yawma tublas saraaa'ir

١٠Then will he have no might nor any helper.

Famaa lahoo min quwwatinw wa laa naasir

١١By the heaven which giveth the returning rain,

Wassamaaa'i zaatir raj'

١٢And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants)

Wal ardi zaatis sad'

١٣Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word,

Innahoo laqawlun fasl

١٤It is no pleasantry.

Wa maa huwa bil hazl

١٥Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad)

Innahum yakeedoona kaidaa

١٦And I plot a plot (against them).

Wa akeedu kaidaa

١٧So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while.

Famahhilil kaafireena amhilhum ruwaidaa
